I was sent several Northern Star Polishes from the Last Days of Summer Collection which will be released on Monday 7/29/2013 in the etsy store … that is TODAY! I swear, every Northern Star Polish I have tried so far has left me saying, “Now this is the perfect blue, pink, brown, glitter, etc!” …and these were no different! In the last few months I have acquired lacquers from 5 different indie polish makers, and what is so cool about this (besides the fact that I’m the luckiest girl ever) is that now I have something to compare these to and can really tell you that Northern Star Polish is amazing! Her colors, formulas, drying time and application are some of the best I have tried so far.
First up is Knock ’em Red, a fruity red with pink shimmer. It is SO pretty! What is it about having perfect red nails? It makes me feel so feminine, I love it! The formula of this polish is amazing, it goes on so smooth and has perfect coverage in two coats. I wore this polish for 7 days and it didn’t chip at all! I couldn’t believe it, not even any tip wear. Then when I did take it off, it came off really easy without staining my nails or fingers pink. (a red polish pet peeve of mine!) The drying time was super fast on this one too! So fast, in fact, that even my toddler was able to sit still long enough for it to dry, well most of it. 🙂 I love the shimmery fuchsia red and am so happy to have this one in my collection!
I decided to try some glue on nails to do this polish a little more justice. What do you think? Too much? I have such a hard time getting my natural nails to grow longer than my finger tips!
Next up is At First Blush a “feathered” topper of small red, pink, and white bars. This one is so cute! This is my first polish with those little bars in it and I love how it almost gives it a fuzzy effect. In the picture above I have one coat over Smuldering, TrustNo1, Knock ’em Red and a black. (top-bottom) In the pictures below I did a little out of season Valentines Mani with one coat of At First Blush over Knock ’em Red and Purrfection.
And last, but certainly not least is Aquadellic, and AWESOME turquoise glitter topper that is opaque in 2-3 coats. This has tons of glitter and large pink and white hexes. I love the name, it is totally psychedelic underwater sparkly goodness. In the first picture below, I am wearing 3 coats over nothing and a top coat.
In the above picture I have 1 coat of Aquadellic over a purple and a black, then three coats on its own on my ring finger. These pictures don’t do it justice, it is SO pretty! It shines like crazy, a super fun pool side mani color! 🙂
Kristin is so sweet to throw a free mini cuticle oil into each order and I feel in LOVE with them! …Actually so many people fell in love with them, that she now sells them too! Yay! This stuff has worked wonders for my cuticles! They were a mess, irritated, cracked and pretty much non-existent on several nails. Take a look at the before and after pictures of the cuticles on my right hand. This is after using Northern Star Cuticle Oil for 1 month. Fine, I used it A LOT, but it smells so good and is so easy to take everywhere, I couldn’t help it!
