Palmolive® soft touch™ Review

I received the Palmolive Soft Touch to test and review for FREE from Influenster! I was so excited to get this product to test because I use Palmolive, but had never tried their Soft Touch line.  Palmolive Soft Touch promises to be tough on grease and clean dishes to a sparkling shine while still being soft enough on your hands to leave your nails chip-free without wearing gloves.  This sounded perfect to me since I absolutely hate wearing gloves when washing dishes and my hands have really taken a toll.  I get really dry knuckles, cracks around my fingers …not to mention it has been impossible to keep my nails chip free for more than a day or so.  Whoohoo!  Let’s try this out!  …I have never been so excited about doing the dishes, I started to wonder if my husband put Influenster up to this brand challenge! 😉

When I received my VoxBox from Influenster, there was not one, but two large bottles of Palmolive Soft Touch inside! Yay!  I got the Vitamin E and Aloe scents along with 5 coupons for $1 off to share with my friends.  I am definitely keeping one coupon for myself so I can try out the Coconut Butter scent!  I have seen these at a lot of stores, including Walmart for about $2.99 each.  I gave the Aloe bottle to my mom, who is also an avid by-hand-dishwasher and glove-wearer so that she could try this out too!  I was able to share my coupons with my mom, sister, aunt and cousin and they are all excited to try out their own bottle of Palmolive Soft Touch too.

Ok, so how does it work?  I was able to tell right away that this soap is different.  It did leave my hands really soft, like I had just washed with a moisturizing hand soap!  It cleaned my toughest and greasiest dishes really well and left my glasses sparkling …an obvious requirement for any good dish soap.  So it is true, Palmolive Soft Touch really is “Tough on Grease and Soft on Hands”

Now for the fun part!  Is is soft on my manicure too?  To test this I had to have a little fun with my nails and this came at the perfect time for me and my new nail polish obsession!  I painted my nails before I used the Palmolive Soft Touch for the first time and they still looked perfect after a huge load of pots and pans.  My nails actually stayed nice all week and I have had a lot of fun playing around with nail art to match my Palmolive Soft Touch bottles, haha!  It’s definitely more motivating to spend extra time on your nails when you know they won’t be ruined the next time you do the dishes!

Pantene® Expert Collection AgeDefy™ Review for Vocalpoint

I received a sample pack of the New Pantene^® Expert Collection AgeDefy™ Shampoo & Conditioner for free from Vocalpoint to review.  I am a very long time Pantene user, but had never tried the AgeDefy line of products yet.  Their claim is that “your hair feels younger in just one use”  …but younger feeling hair?  What does that even mean?  My hair is really long right now so I knew this sample was only going to be good for one use and thought, I guess we’ll see if their claim is true!

I was actually so intrigued after one use that I used the coupon from Vocalpoint right away to buy a full sized shampoo and continued trying it out.  After just one use of the Pantene^® Expert Collection AgeDefy™ Shampoo & Conditioner, my hair felt so soft!  When I ran my fingers through my hair the first time after using it, I got this weird flashback of how my hair felt in High School.  It had more flexibility and bounce to it and seemed softer and stronger.

It made sense to me, as we age, our hair becomes more brittle and dry and the Pantene^® Expert Collection AgeDefy™ recovered some of the flexibility lost with age.  I spend so much time trying to make my hair smooth and shiny and those products often coat your hair which can also lead to brittleness and breakage.

I definitely recommend trying this product, especially if you have frizzy, dry, brittle hair from age or heat and from styling products.  Now I am curious to try out some of the other products in their Pantene^® Expert Collection as well.

Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes Review

  

I received Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes to test and review for FREE from Influenster!  They arrived with several other great products in my Sugar ‘n Spice VoxBox.  I received a box of 20 individually wrapped towelettes and 5 coupons to share.

My first questions was, “So, what is Witch Hazel?”  I had heard of it and had been given some witch hazel wipes postpartum, but never learned what the exact health benefits of it were.  After doing a little research, I found that the list of benefits and uses for witch hazel goes on and on!  Not only does it clean, tone, refresh and control oil, it can be used to sooth most types of external skin irritation like cuts, bruises, swelling, acne, bug bites, sun burns, puffy eyes, diaper rash, razor burn and more!  Wow!  I am glad I kept a coupon for myself so I can grab another box and try some of these other uses!

I immediately liked that they were individually wrapped so they won’t dry out and they will stay more sanitary.  Such a small little package fits easily in your purse, makeup bag or pocket and is great for busy mommy’s on the go.  After using them several times and throwing away all the wrappers, I realized that if I were to make these a regular part of my home beauty routine, I would like them in a pop up pack for less waste.  I wasn’t too fond of the smell, but it is light and doesn’t last long, so it won’t deter me from using or buying them.

The towelettes are refreshing and clean my face really well.  They did a good job controlling oil and shine for hours without leaving my skin dry and tight.  The aloe in the towelettes moisturizes so well that I didn’t feel like I needed to put face lotion on right away.  I love how the towelettes are large enough to clean your whole face and still have moisture in them to wipe your neck, chest and hands too.

I am always on the lookout for natural beauty products and am sometimes willing to pay more for them, but Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes are very reasonable priced at around $5.99 for a 20 count box.  I have to admit I am intrigued by the multiple uses for witch hazel and am planning to look into Dickinson’s complete line of products.

belVita Breakfast Biscuits Review

 

I received belVita Breakfast Biscuits to test and review for FREE from Influenster!  They arrived with several other great products in my Sugar ‘n Spice VoxBox.  I received 1 package of Oatmeal Cinnamon belVita Breakfast Biscuits and knew right away, that this was not going to be enough since my son was already eying my “cookies”.

I had heard of belVita before but had never tried them and thought they were a type of cookie.  As I was reading the package, I was happy to see that they are much healthier than cookies and contain whole grains, no high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils.

I took the belVita Breakfast Challenge and had my Breakfast Biscuits with strawberries, yogurt, milk and coffee.  I really like the Cinnamon Oatmeal flavor.  It was so good and left me satisfied and ready to go all morning!

My son woke up to find that mommy had eaten the “cookies” so we had to buy more and try some other flavors.  The kids love the Apple Cinnamon ….. and I love that they are eating a healthy snack that is easy for me to take on the go.

Colgate Optic White Review

 

I received the Colgate Optic White Teeth Whitening Regimen to test and review for FREE from Influenster!  It arrived with several other great products in my Sugar ‘n Spice VoxBox.  I was given the Optic White Mouthwash, Toothpaste and Toothbrush to try.  As a busy mommy, my coffee addiction has started to take a toll on my teeth and I was really excited to try a new teeth whitening product.

I used the entire regimen twice a day and the bottle of mouthwash lasted 7 days.  I didn’t mind the taste of the mouthwash or tooth paste; it is not a very strong mint, more like wintergreen than peppermint which I like.  They are both really foamy because of the hydrogen peroxide and it feels like it gets into all the crevices.

The toothbrush has some interesting and unique features.  In the bristles, are little rubber whitening cups which hold the toothpaste to remove surface stains more efficiently.   It also has polishing bristles that polish away surface stains and clean those hard-to-reach areas for a brilliant white smile.  The back of the head has a tongue and cheek scraper to leave you with a complete clean.

The packaging said I would see results in a week and I definitely did!  I feel like my teeth are quite a bit whiter!  But the best part is …I haven’t had ANY tooth sensitivity!  None!  Every other time I have tried to use whitening products, my teeth have become so sensitive that I have to stop using them before I can see any results.

Because I got such noticeable results in just one week, I bought another bottle of mouthwash and am continuing to use the complete regimen.  At a few dollars for each piece, I definitely recommend trying this regimen before spending big money on white strips or getting your teeth whitened at the dentist!

Neutrogena Cosmetics …Going Beyond Makeup

I was given Neutrogena Cosmetics to test for FREE from Bzz Agent and I have had a lot of fun using and playing around with them over the last couple months.  See my first review HERE.

As a busy mommy, my beauty routine has to be pretty simple but when I do take those extra 10 minutes a day to put myself together, I feel like I can really take on the day.  My Bzz Kit came with everything I needed for my basic look giving me beautiful natural looking lips and eyes.

The Healthy Lengths Mascara is still my favorite item in the kit.  If I only have time to put on one type of makeup, it is mascara and this one is great.  The mascara in my kit was Black but it also comes in Black/Brown and Black Carbon.  One of the things I like the best about this mascara is that it doesn’t have a chemical smell that makes my eyes water.  This mascara layers well, so you can just wear one coat for a natural effect or you can put on up to 3 coats or so to get more dramatic eyes.

The package recommended applying it from the base of the lash up using a slight jiggling motion back and forth all the way to the tip.  I actually feel this technique is very beneficial with this mascara; it helped coat the lashes evenly all the way to the tip and separate them.  This mascara uses Olive Oil and Vitamin E to nourish and protect the lashes allowing them to grow longer.  I do feel like the smaller lashes on the outside and insides of my eyes are longer.

Lasting Taupe Crease-Proof Eye Shadow
After 16 hours without touch-ups …no creases!

The Crease-Proof Eye Shadow Sticks have a primer built in that allows it to last all day without ever creasing!  They come in 6 different shades.  My Bzz Kit came with Constant Copper and Lasting Taupe, which is the perfect combo of a light and dark brown to achieve a natural highlighting effect.   After using them a few times I found that you need to rub the eye shadow in to your lid a little bit to help it set and really become crease-proof all day long.  Once the eye shadow is blended in it dries quickly to a powdery finish.

I liked the feel of the MoistureSmooth Color Stick in my Bzz Kit so much that I went out and bought another color to try.  They go on really smooth, never sticky and gritty even as it is wearing off.  They don’t leave my lips crying for lip balm after it comes off either.  My lips actually feel softer and smoother.  MoistureSmooth Color Sticks come in 8 Different colors.  I received the Sweet Watermelon in my Bzz Kit and bought the Warm Caramel.  I may use my $2 Off Coupon to try another shade too!

     I was given Neutrogena® Cosmetics to test for FREE from Bzz Agent!  Ok, I just have to admit that I totally jumped up and did a little dance when I got the email that I was accepted for this.  Haha!  I LOVE Bzz Agent!  …you can test products for FREE too!  Sign up with Bzz Agent HERE.

     I was so excited when I got the package that I ripped it all open and started playing with it before I took pictures of it!  The Bzz Kit came with 4 full-sized Neutrogena® Cosmetics products:

I fell in love with the Neutrogena® Healthy Lengths Mascara right away!  It goes on really nice and doesn’t clump or flake.  It also doesn’t have a strong chemical smell like other mascaras which makes my eyes water.  This mascara strengthens and nourishes the lashes with vitamin E and olive oil which will allow them to grow long and healthy.  It claims 100% longer lashes and I’d say that’s about right!  Check out this before and after pic with just one coat!

I was really happy with the two shades of Neutrogena® Crease Proof Eye Shadows I got in Constant Copper & Lasting Taupe.  I usually use a lighter shade above my eyelashes and Constant Copper has been great for that.  Then I’ll use a darker shade like the Lasting Taupe in the crease, so I have been playing around with different looks using one or both of the colors.

I received a Neutrogena® MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Sweet Watermelon and when I 1st opened the package I didn’t think I would like the color, but it has grown on me and I really love the way it feels!  It is so smooth and soft, and doesn’t dry out or get sticky.  I don’t feel the need to put chap stick on right away after it wears off, so it must be moisturizing!  I just bought another one in Warm Caramel and love it!

I am definitely going to play around with this  make-up some more and I will add another post closer to the end of the Bzz Campaign to let you know what I think about Neutrogena® Cosmetics after using them for a month.  Thank you Bzz Agent for the opportunity to test Neutrogena® Cosmetics for FREE!

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel …the “AFTER” Review

I was given Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel to test for FREE from Bzz Agent!  I wore the peel every night for 36 nights until the bottle was empty, which was conveniently right before the Bzz Campaign ended.

The Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel uses a complex of Vitamin C to lighten dark spots and Glycolic Acid to smooth and exfoliate the skin leaving a radiant and more even skin tone.  It is gentle enough to use every night and I never had any irritation or redness.

The Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel was easy to use, just apply a thin layer on clean skin to the entire face and neck before bed.  It is a little sticky at first, so I tried to apply it about 30 minutes or so before I actually laid down for bed.  In the morning I would wash it off.  It never really peeled or made my skin peel, it was very mild and worked slowly over 5 weeks.  The Garnier website and clinical studies recommend using their entire line of Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector products for optimal results noticeable in just one week!

After a couple weeks of using Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel, I noticed that my skin was brighter, more even toned and the fine lines around my eyes and on my forehead were smaller.  After about 4 weeks, I was convinced that my dark spots were fading!  I didn’t realize just how much until I put my “before” and “after” photos together.  Take a look, can you see a difference?

I will keep this product in mind for the future if I get more dark spots and I will consider also using their other Skin Renew products along with it.  Getting noticeable results at home for around $15 – $17, really beats those pricey peels at the dermatologists office!

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel …the “BEFORE” Review

I was given the opportunity to test Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel for FREE through Bzz Agent!  After years of aggressive sun tanning, the sun spots are catching up to me.  I have a pretty large dark spot on my right cheek below my right eye and another large one on my left temple near my eyebrow.  There are a few other smaller lighter ones too here and there.  I have never used a chemical peel either professionally or in home, so I was really curious as to how well it would work and what it would be like.  I had all the newbie questions:  Will it hurt or sting?  Will my skin actually peel?  Will my face turn red?  I had no idea.

I took some photos of my dark spots before I ever used the Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel to document them and see how much they change.  Then I tried the peel.  I think it smells nice, not too chemically, it goes on easily and no, it doesn’t hurt or sting, or make my face red or peel.  It is very gently and I have not had any irritation from it at all.  It is a little sticky at first, so I try to apply it about 30 minutes or so before I actually lay down for bed.

I have been wearing Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel every night for 1 month now and I do think the spot are fading!  Another great benefit is that the fine lines around my eyes and on my forehead seem to be less!  The final results with before and after photos will be in my next blog review near the end of the the Bzz Campaign.

Schick Hydro Silk® Razor Review

     I was given the opportunity to test the Schick Hydro Silk Razor for FREE through Bzz Agent!  Needless to say, I was really excited because of how expensive good razors are these days!  Schick Hydro Silk makes a lot of claims about the reinvented handle and special moisturizing serum, so I was curious!

     Is it possible to fall in love with your razor HANDLE?  A handle is a handle, right?  Not this time!  Schick put a lot of thought into this handle, but it works so well, that you might not even notice.  It wasn’t until the 2^nd or 3^rd time I was shaving that I looked down and realized how well the handle fit into my hand.  My finger was in the little groove on top and the rounded bottom part was resting perfectly in my palm.  It was then that I realized the entire handle was designed for ultimate function, not just aesthetic style.  I tried holding the razor in all of the different angles needed to shave and found that it fit comfortably and securely in my hand at any angle.

    When the razor is laid down, it is designed so that the cartridge head does not touch the ground, this ensures that the Moisturizing Serum is not activated by water on the surface and the head does not stick to the surface it is lying on.  The Schick Hydro Silk Starter Set comes with a shower hanging attachment that also holds the head away from the wall so that it won’t stick.  …another genius feature!

     The Schick Hydro Silk Razor has a special Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum on the cartridge head that not only protects and moisturizes your skin when you shave, but leaves your legs feeling silky soft and moisturized afterwards too!  I wasn’t sure if I would like this part, because I actually took the moisture strips off the razor I previously was using.  Schick’s Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum is different!  Just run water over the head to activate the serum and you can shave without shaving cream or body wash!  This is especially nice for those quick touch-ups, just wet the razor, shave and go!  After I shaved, my legs felt so silky smooth and soft, I didn’t even need to put on lotion!

     I used to have a problem with my legs getting very irritated the day after shaving with red itchy bumps as the hair grew back in.  This was a great deterrent to shaving my legs, especially in the dry winter months.   I am VERY pleasantly surprised that with Schick Hydro Silk I do NOT have that problem!  I have not had ANY irritation immediately after shaving or several days later.  I think this may be a combination of their Moisturizing Serum and the 5 Curve-Sensing Blades that give such a close shave while protecting the skin.

I was so grateful to discover the Schick Hydro Silk Razor by testing it for FREE from Bzz Agent.  I will definitely buy and recommend this product to my friends in the future!
